Great Respite News!!!!!!!!!

YAI is pleased to announce the opening of a new overnight weekend respite program in Nassau County in October 2011.

The program is located in Merrick and each weekend will host
up to 5  Nassau County individuals with developmental disabilities ranging in age from 8 through senior years.


 The program is wheelchair accessible and can comfortably accommodate 2 people in wheelchairs each weekend.

The respite program provides 24 hour supervision and will operate from 2 pm Friday through 5 pm Sunday.

  YAI is currently accepting applications.

has immediate openings at their East Meadow Respite House!!!

The Respite Program provides services for developmentally
 disabled individuals living with their families. These services
 include overnight and hourly visits of up to 30 consecutive days.

The Respite Program focuses on recreation and community
integration while providing the program participant with a fun, relaxing "vacation" atmosphere.
 

The Respite Program is located Nassau County. The home can
 serve up to seven individuals at one time under 24 hour supervision.
 

The program focuses on social interaction and
leisure time activities on an individual basis.
